Am finally , after 10 yrs , finishing hull #2 of my tiki30 Have followed you avidly thru the years. Thanks for your willing support on various blogs and sites. And for setting a high bar for the boatbuilding community.
I will finish to the dreaded ‘workboat’ level of completion but thats ok- i’ve done it all solo whilst building my large solar powered home and shop , tending to an extreme medically challenged kid and the myriad other curveballs that life can throw one’s way… the boat will float and my lady and I will do fine…. spend a year on western lakes [i live in a high desert plateau Coorado Rockies] and then see what happens.
I think it was your site steered me to Raka products- thanks for that as well! I have a query regarding masts. Do you still have your same opinion favoring more traditional rig w/ boom /stays etc? I like the logic re ease of raising, speed of down hauling and gaining a bit more sail area. What mast dimensions do you recommend for that application?
Thanks again
